0-5k Beginners Course

  • I’m not active and I’ve never done any running in my life. Is this really for me?
Yes, as the 0-5k course is 12 weeks you will have time to progress gradually. In week 1 you will start with running intervals of 1 minute with a generous walking recovery in between and then build up from there. You'll also receive plenty of guidance on stretching and core exercises to ensure that your body is able to handle the demands of running.
  • Will I be too slow and end up running on my own all the time?
No matter what speed you run, there is a place for you. When starting out it's much easier to have someone to chat to, you will never be left behind. We'll always re-group during the session and Nic, the running coach, will usually be towards the back of the group.
  • If I miss a run/session, can I still keep going?"
Yes! If you miss a run due to work/family commitments or are unwell, then complete the next run on the plan. Avoid trying to catch up on the missed run, as you risk overtraining and getting injured. Even if you miss several sessions in a row, do keep going. It may mean repeating a week which is fine. We'll discuss with you about where in the plan to restart and adapt the group sessions for you.
  • Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
Before the first session you can request a full refund up to one week before. After this time we are unable to offer any refunds. Our aim is for everyone to have the best experience possible so please do chat to us if you have any concerns or if the sessions are not meeting your needs.
  • What happens if sessions have to stop due to Covid restrictions? Will I get a refund?
In the event that sessions are cancelled due to Covid restrictions, you will be issued a full refund for any sessions that have not yet taken place. The 0-5k course will move online instead.
